Dr. Rent is a neonatologist at the Duke Children’s Hospital and a global perinatal health researcher. Dr. Rent’s research is focused on neonatal resuscitation training and practices, including the scale-up of best practice interventions across a health system via the Ethiopian Neonatal Advanced Life Support program. Dr. Rent also focuses on neonatal palliative care and the psychosocial support for families with critically ill children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or those who have experienced perinatal loss. Lastly, Dr. Rent is working on implementation efforts to support the use of donor human milk in NICUs in low-resource settings.
