- Contact us to confirm your subspecialty is participating.
- Applications accepted from current Duke residents and fellows from participating subspecialties.
- Applications from non-Duke applicants are accepted for Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship.
Criteria for selection include:
- Strong recommendation from current Residency or Fellowship Program Director
- Academic qualifications
- Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and cross cultural awareness/sensitivity
- Ability to articulate relevance of global health training to future career plans
- Prior global health experience
- Strength of personal interview
Applicants are required to provide the following:
- Updated curriculum vitae
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty (one may be from your Program Director). Faculty members should send their recommendation letters directly to tara.pemble@duke.edu
- Personal Statement (1-3 pages) describing your reasons for pursuing the Global Health Pathway should include:
- A description of any prior work/experiences overseas related to caring for under-served populations
- Personal qualities that will prepare you for this position.
- Ability to articulate relevance of global health training to your future career goals
- How this program will help you accomplish your career goals
Placement is competitive and contingent upon the qualifications of the applicant and spots available in the program.
