Summary
Dr. Ganga Moorthy is a 2023 graduate of the Global Health Pathway. She is currently a medical instructor in the Duke Department of Pediatrics. During her time in the Pathway, she was a global health fellow in Duke’s Pediatric Infectious Diseases program. She earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed her pediatrics residency at Duke where she also served as Pediatric Chief Resident and Medical Instructor in General Pediatrics.
During residency, she work at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center in Moshi, Tanzania as part of the HYC’s global health elective rotation program. While there, she worked with a pediatric population, encountering neonatal sepsis, febrile illness and tropical disease. She is interested in global antimicrobial stewardship and improving diagnosis and outcomes from neonatal sepsis. Her fellowship research explored evaluating antimicrobial resistance and biomarkers for neonatal bloodstream infections in Moshi, Tanzania.
