As part of DGHI, Tianchen Sheng manages and cleans data from patients with respiratory tract infections or COVID-19 at local hospitals. She is responsible for carrying out epidemiologic data analysis to quantify the prevalence of antimicrobial use and to identify characteristics associated with acute dengue, acute respiratory tract infections, and other infectious diseases. Tianchen also analyzes trends and the seasonality of respiratory infections as well as performs geospatial analysis of acute respiratory tract infections in Sri Lanka.

Tianchen was born in China and completed her undergraduate studies at Wuhan University in biology.  She came to Duke and completed her Master’s in Global Health in 2018.
